Tropico 2 no opened ended9/4/2023 Admiring the spectacular view needs to be put aside for a later time as there is work to do! My first action as the governor - and as the careing Father of my Tropicans - is to build a few corn plantations to feed my growing population and have a few tobacco and sugar plantations to make a base for my future rum and cigar production, which shall be the backbone of my economy. I can see birds flying over my the majestic palace of my character, Rodrico Tortuella, who currently is a Governor of the island under the rule of the British Crown. The first thing that pops to my mind when I look at my Caribbean island is just how beautiful it is with its two steaming volcanoes and crystal clear water. Despite all that, the general feeling of the game is all familiar, from the calming sansa music to UI layout, and being an old hand with the series it takes me no time to figure out what I am supposed to do.Įven if I were not, the game is quite simple to get the hang of things by following the advisors and missions telling you to various tasks, from build an library in your island to opening up a trade route in exchange of a small amount of money or a better relations with the other nations, while making a bit of an effort to open up some tabs to find out what it says there. How many years it has passed since I last played the franchise, I wonder as I start up a new scenario in Tropico 5, finding myself to struggle with remembering the basic keys and shortcuts. This is not my first time playing Tropico I was first introduced to the game series with Tropico 2 and I have owned all the following titles ever since. In the game I am the loved El Presidente, leading my tiny Caribbean Banana republic and my fellow Tropicans to victory and prosperity, while not forgetting to feed my Swiss bank account occasionally either. Hola, my friends! Finally I managed to find enough time to put together my humble review of the recently released Tropico, which is the 5th title of the franchise.
